Plug Me in and Turn Me On

When I think of robots and science fiction, I always think about two of my favorite musical artists.
The first is Gary Numan and the second is The Covenant.

Even though I'm a bigger fan of Gary Numan's newer industrial style work, he started out doing synth pop in the late 70's. One of his older pieces that I especially like in particular is the song "Metal" from his album "The Pleasure Principle" and I like the lyrics to that song most of all. This song always makes me think of humanoid robots.

As for The Covenant, most of their lyrics are very futuristic and always have deep meaning to them. Often telling a story or showing us what the future might become. I love all of their songs, but the song "Bullet" had such a great music video and greatly influenced this drawing.
